Mabuhay!

Flag of the Philippines

The Philippine flag consists of stripes, a triangle, and stars. The golden sun is surrounded by three stars, which represent the three main regions. These regions are Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The eight rays of the sun represent the eight provinces that rebelled against Spanish rule. The color blue represents sacrifice for freedom, and red represents courage.

Personal Experience

With familial roots in the Philippines, I have traveled there with my family to visit extended family during summers and school breaks. Living in the rural areas, my family would commute to places using public transit, such as jeepneys and trikes.
